Cougar 4×4 – Cost: $475K

The Cougar 4×4 is a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle designed to withstand improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and comes armed with multiple machine guns. The cost of producing a single Cougar 4×4 in 2002 was $475K, a hefty price for such a powerful and reliable vehicle.
It was first introduced to the United States Army and Marine Corps in 2004 and has since also been adopted by other countries. Poland, for example, now operates over 40 Cougars as part of a loan from the US. and the UK. Ideal for navigating on difficult terrains, this vehicle can move on sand, mud, and snow.
