To the pleasure of those who know his tale, Togo eventually received a fair level of recognition, albeit long after his death. The “Togo” movie is just one of his several immortalizations. You can find his mounted skin exhibited at Wasilla, Alaska’s Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race Headquarters museum.
Of his beloved companion, Seppala wrote this before his death: “…And when I come to the end of the rail, I feel that along with my many friends, Togo will be waiting, and I know that everything will be all right.”
